Universal Christ

The third 2023 Episcopal Church & Visual Arts exhibition - Universal Christ - was curated by Janet McKenzie, artist, author and lecturer. The challenge for the twenty-five artists who contributed to the exhibition was to identify "Who is this Christ?"

Janet writes "This exhibit includes imagery inspired by the Gospel and as well art that honors women as the foundational source of grace. And there are interpretations reflecting God ‘within me’, which is perhaps the most difficult of all expressions."

Worship the Lord in the
Beauty of Holiness

The second 2023 Episcopal Church & Visual Arts exhibition - Worship the Lord in the Beauty of Holiness - was curated by Tobias Stanislas Haller BSG, iconographer, visual artist and musician. He writes that the 27 contributing artist have found ways to create a visual "Museum of Common Prayer" in dialogue with texts from the Book of Common Prayer, the Bible and the Hymnal. The virtual Museum consists of five Galleries, each with seven images.

It is "...the beauty of holiness mirrored in the holiness of beauty, the union of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful as a pointer towards the ineffable and inexpressible that is beyond our grasp -- but as close as every breath we take."
